The tradition of Homecoming Week was revived in 2002 under the supervision of the Director of Big Game Week and Charter Games, Amanda Williams. In 2003, for the first time in 40 years, the University saw a full week of student-oriented Homecoming activities, largely the result of coordination between the Rally Committee, the newly-formed Student Homecoming Team, and 17 other student organizations and affiliates. Homecoming Week celebrates and honors the people of California.
Each year, the number of events, activities and participating groups has increased. Today, the UC Rally Committee hosts events such as comedy shows, academic fairs, and the traditional Homecoming Rally the night before the Homecoming football game. The Rally Committee is continuously improving Homecoming Week and looking for new and innovative ways to bring the entire Cal community, both alumni and current students, together to celebrate being Golden Bears.

Cal Corn Hole
Want to show off your mad cornhole skills? Like winning prizes? Then stop by the RallyComm Table to play Cal Corn Hole!! This game will be happening on Monday, September 19 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm at the RallyComm Table on Sproul. Each contestant will get 3 tries to make the bean bag into the hole to win a prize from the RallyComm prize box!
Songs of California
Aca – scuse me? Aca – What? Yes we have an Acapella Show to celebrate Homecoming! Come out to Sather Gather to watch The California Golden Overtones and Noteworthy sing their hearts out over some Cal songs. Both groups will be going back and forth singing songs for everyone to come enjoy! This performance will be on Tuesday, September 20 from 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm at Sather Gate.
Oski Lookalike Contest
Do you have an Oski costume/inspired outfit that you want to show the world? Then come out to the Oski Lookalike Contest! Everyone who dresses up will have the chance to be entered into the contest. You picture will be posted on the official RallyComm social media account, where people will vote for the best Oski costume. Whoever wins will then get to be Oski’s special guest at the Homecoming Night Rally on Thursday, September 21. If you would like to show off your love of Oski, then come by the RallyComm Table on Sproul between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 21. There may even be a special guest appearance during that time.
Night Rally
Did you miss me? There is another Night Rally coming up next week!! The Homecoming Night Rally will be on Thursday, September 22 starting at 8:00 pm at Bowles Hall. We will begin at Bowles Hall, then continue on to the Alpha Chi Omega House, Channing Circle, Unit 2, Unit 1, Martinez Commons, and end at Unit 3.
Noon Rally
Guess what? ITS HOMECOMING NOON RALLY!!!! The Cal v. Arizona Homecoming Noon Rally will be next Friday, September 23 @ 12:10 pm. Want to hang out with Cal Band, Mic en, and Oski? Come meet us to get into the Homecoming spirit!!
